What do you see as the biggest challenge for 2024?

The wider economical situation in the past years has been wagging recruitment by its tail. The markets need to stabilize, but that seems like it will be a slower-than-anticipated process, which will have a tremendous impact on the labor market.

Where do recruitment organisations need to improve on the corporate side?

Candidate experience - whether you source a candidate, or they apply to you, they have to enjoy the process. Candidates remember the bad experience, and will be less likely to join you (or even buy your product) in the future.

What economic outlook do you see for 2024? What are your expectations for the intellectual labour market?

The business world goes as the United States goes, and we are in an election year. Different sectors will be winners depending on the next US president. I expect companies to wait for that moment before major strategic decisions.

What do you think about AI? Is it taking away the recruiters' jobs?

AI does not really take away the job of current recruiters at the moment - it gives them further tools to become more efficient. With all the tools continuing to develop further, I do expect there will be a lower demand for junior, starting recruiters (similar to have AI impacted the programming world).

Where can AI add value in recruitment selection?

Pretty much across the whole process - whether it's reshaping your JDs, advertising, search, connection, interviewing or offer management, there are activities that it can speed up significantly.

Of all the advice and feedback you've received over the years, which has stuck with you the most?

One thing that I always rediscover is that in this profession listening is more important than talking - that is how you will learn what is important for both your candidates and clients!

What are you preparing for recruiTECH CEE?

An open mind! I think whenever a high number of recruitment professionals from different companies and regions meet, there is plenty we can learn from each other. I am looking forward to hearing their battle stories and personal experiences!
